Invest in What Matters:
Home, Community, &
a Shared Future

Let's invest in our Michigan communities together

Cozy Porch

There are no more starter homes.

Bright young minds—our future teachers, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and caregivers—can’t afford to build a life here. Parents across Emmet and Charlevoix Counties look at their kids and wonder: Where will they live? Will they be forced to leave their hometown just to afford a home?

We are at a turning point.

The rising cost of housing has outpaced local wages. New developments rarely reflect the needs of those who already live here, and when profits from growth leave the region, so does our sense of ownership over the future.

What if we could change that?

What if a portion of the $40 trillion that Americans invest into Wall Street could be redirected to our main streets?

What if we could choose to put our hard-earned dollars into the heart of the communities we live in?

InvestMitt  is making that vision a reality.

What We Do Together

With help from investors, volunteers, and everyday working people, InvestMitt is a nonprofit organization that aims to make a difference in the very foundation of our local communities.

We are neighbors investing in our neighborhoods.

Shopping Area
Community Control of Real Estate

InvestMitt acquires, manages, and develops local real estate—especially housing that is attainable for working families. Our properties are locally-owned and community-controlled.

Dollar Bill in Jar
Community Investment Fund

We're establishing a powerful investment fund to harness local dollars and direct them into local projects, making investing accessible to more people—not just the wealthy few.

Wooden Home Framing
Low Interest Capital for Housing Projects

We provide financing for projects that meet community needs, reduce development costs, and help make homes more affordable.

Family at a Beach
Lasting Prosperity for Everyone

Our work has both immediate and long-term impact. From housing affordability to keeping dollars circulating in our local economy, our work contributes to the creation of thriving, resilient communities.
