How Do You Make an Investment?
When we're talking about things like donations, memberships and especially investments, it can get pretty confusing real fast. There are a few more steps to making an investment compared to donating. We created this guide to help you through the process. This page will show the steps of investing before you even click the link, that way you know exactly what to expect.
1. SVX Home
When you first click the link to invest with us, you will be directed to our page on the SVX website. This page has some more in-depth information on our organization and its mission and your various investing options. ​ When you get here, the next step is creating an account on the SVX website.
2. Creating an Account
When you go to make an account, the first step is nothing new! You'll be asked to create a username and password, and then to set up a two-factor authentication for your account. ​ You will be given multiple options for the authentication, so chose whichever works best for you! Once your account is made, you will be shown the Marketplace where you select the InvestMitt Offer to start the process!
3. Identity Verification
Once you've selected the InvestMitt Offer, SVX will begin the verification process. SVX will ask for a form of identification, for example your driver's license. This is all to ensure the security of the investing process! ​
4. Establishing Your Account Type
The next screen will look like this if you are a Michigan resident (if you are not a MI resident, there will be a screen where you will need to verify if you are an accredited investor or not). Click ‘Individual Signer’ unless you are signing jointly with someone else.
Next you will choose from investing through a bank (e.g. check or wire) or a retirement account.
5. SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT
Next you will fill out the Subscription Agreement, which is the legally binding contract between you and InvestMitt Cooperative. All terms are 7 years, pick between a 4%, 2%, or 1% ROI. Then follow the prompts (clicking next) to sign and fill in needed information.
6. PAYMENT METHOD
“Step 4” is where you submit your payment method. You chose to submit a check, wire, or use a retirement account transfer. An ACH method will be made available soon.
​If you choose to send in a check, you will be provided with the mailing address.
7. SUBMIT AND COMPLETE
Finally, click “SUBMIT TRANSACTION”
Once SVX verifies your account and InvestMitt receives or confirms receipt of your funds, then InvestMitt will countersign the subscription agreement. InvestMitt will send you updates and you can always reach out to info@investmitt.org.
